RI National Guard Air Show- North Kingstown Rhode Island

 

at the Quonset State Airport is revving up for a fabulous weekend of fun in the sky and down below. Happening on June 16 & 17, 2012. 

An air show is an event at which aviators display their flying skills and the capabilities of their aircraft to spectators in aerobatics. It gives kids of all ages a chance to see close up what our military personnel use in the air protecting our country.  Then the amazing aerial show is just happening all day entertaining everyone.  It is a world class show for all.

 

This RI National Guard Air Show is rated as one of the Top Three Air Shows in the country so it’s no wonder that it draws between 50,000 to 70,000 visitors to it each day!!

 

Even the performers and military contributors have commented that the RI brand of hospitality keeps them coming back to our little state year after year to demonstrate their appreciation to their hosts.  What a nice thing for RI to be remembered for.

Being on the tarmac and watching the aerial displays, maneuvers and just the amazing speed of these aircraft is an experience.  You need to enjoy it with family and/or friends this year.  You can bring chairs and umbrellas to sit in and shield yourself from the sun.

 

 Be aware that this is a military base and all bags will be searched upon entrance.  No coolers allowed.  There is no charge for this air show but a requested $10 donation per car goes to support local RI Charities with the largest one being Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence RI.  Over $1.5 million has been raised for charities over the years.

 

The Flying Schedule will become available to the public as we get closer to the Air Show.

The USAF Thunderbirds will be one of the highlights of the show..come out …gates open at 10 am and the show goes to about 4:30 pm.  It is a wonderful family day on North Kingstown Rhode Island real estate to enjoy.

 

I recommend coming early since in 2011 the National Guard had to close the entrances to the Air Show because the lots were full by noon time!!
