my town all during the year.  Especially at the Christmas season when children have wishes and many parents have no money to spend on them.

 

The willingness of all local North Kingstown residents to open their heart and purse strings to make the holidays merry and bright for families in need is what is needed now.  Adopt a Family program in the community is here to help.  The town of North Kingstown welcomes your help right now!  Please get on the phone today to Marie Marcotte at 401-268-1579 at North Kingstown social services.  Ms. Marcotte will set you up with a needy family’s wishes for children’s presents of toys and clothes.  Gift cards or certificates are welcomes as well.

 

It is a tradition in many families to go shopping for all ones family members at holiday time.  One thing my family has always incorporated as a tradition is to adopt a family for the holidays especially.  We cut back on what we give to one another so we can give to a family in need.  It is as my kids always said a way to pay it forward- to know that someone cared enough about your family somewhere out there to make a difference.  Please do your part and Adopt a Family for Christmas wherever you are.

 

Contact Social Services at 401-268-1579 and they will give you a family, list of wants, sizes for clothes and the deadline to get back to them with the ‘wish list’ filled by December 14th.

 

There is a tremendous need for food gifts in the form of store gift certificates (Stop & Shop, Dave’s, Shaws) through this program as well so do not forget about this need also.  Make this the right holiday season for giving to others.  It does not take much but the need is ever present and all gifts are welcome.    Adopt a Family for Christmas| North Kingstown RI.
